The professional casino gambler can enter a casino and everybody knows he is there. He is flamboyant in his own right but not too obvious and he doesn't appear to notice.

In a decade of knowing this man, I've only seen him lose once. I am sure he's lost more than that but I witnessed it once in spectacular fashion. While most normal gamblers will be reaching for a noose at the outlook of losing so much money in such a short space of time, he, on one other hand, did not seem too concerned as he boarded the plane home.
He just patted his wife on the rear and said with a knowing smile: "this time around I can't buy you that oceanfront mansion, but the next time baby, you'll have it" ;.
I met his wife that day and she revealed in my experience the sting in the tail. You see, there's never a "next time" with the professional gambler, only a much bigger bet or investment. He hasn't stopped to reap and enjoy the rewards of a mammoth win. Further bets just get bigger and the promises more lucrative but ultimately more distant.
